When spring arrives.

April thru June

The snow melts and our lakes and forests come alive. Take to the trails and witness nature’s rebirth with budding ferns, mossy craigs, surreal greens and fresh signs of life everywhere. Watch springs trickle and rapids roar; check out the migratory return and watch for waking wildlife. Or just relax and enjoy the great outdoors (without bugs) from the comfort of our spacious outdoor screened room complete with lounge settings, a wood-burning granite fireplace and inbuilt overhead heaters.

For the autumn show.

September thru October

Canada’s Fall colours are unbeatable and the Haliburton Highlands are centre stage. The changing of the season at The Bear Stand offers sensational viewing points, due to a mix of conifer and maple hardwood stands across the property. Step out the door or stand on the dock and nature’s majesty is right there. Crisp Fall temperatures, misty mornings and big blue-sky days make this our favourite time of year. Through Thanksgiving, the local community bursts with seasonal energy - with art tours, Fall Farmer’s markets, forest walks and the best roundup of colours in the country.

For summertime fun.

July thru August

Our beautiful natural shoreline and secluded wetlands offer excellent canoeing and kayaking opportunities. Take a dip in the lake (from our sandy beach or swim raft), go rock jumping into deep clear water (a quick paddle gets you there) or sunbathe on our deck loungers, cocktail in hand. Explore our trails, try your hand at the BBQ, enjoy outdoor entertaining and gather 'round the campfire for an amazing summer, not soon to be forgotten.

And the magic of winter.

December thru march

Snowshoe our nature trails and enjoy a lakeside Softub as the snow falls all around.  Follow up with a steamy Winter sauna session. Nordic and alpine skiing are just a stone’s throw away, traditional dogsledding is around the corner and the snowmobile trails run for miles. Ice-climb, ice-fish, toboggan, make snow angels, throw snowballs or stay in and watch the snow fall from the comfort of your fireside armchair. Our access road is plowed and visitors are welcome. Come stay and explore the magic of The Kawarthas, Haliburton and Algonquin Highlands.
