we sought to create...

An architectural gem in the heart of nature and a sanctuary far-removed from busy urban life. So we crafted The Bear Stand, a luxurious lakeside retreat in the heart of the Haliburton Highlands, just 2.5 hours northeast of Toronto.

Featured in Architectural Digest magazine, winner of the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) Merit Award in 2017, and recipient of the national AIA Housing Award in 2018. The Bear Stand is a stunning 3,400-square-foot, four-season vacation home that beautifully fuses the traditional Canadian cabin experience with the best in contemporary design.

Set on a secluded 99-acre plot surrounded by native Crown Lands, this unique and very private property offers 1,300 feet of lakeside shoreline and over 5kms of private groomed hiking trails and wetland boardwalks.

Modernist yet welcoming, The Bear Stand’s handcrafted wood and glass structure features floor-to-ceiling windows with picturesque lake and forest views, three granite fireplaces (inside and out), a soaring two-storey Great Room, fir beams and heated hardwood floors throughout. The Bear Stand is a luxuriously designed space in which to relax and unwind, enjoy the natural environment, and spend quality time with family and friends.
